In this blog you probably won’t be hearing how great the new Rambo movie was or how many times Jessica Alba’s nipples were visible in Silver Surfer. I am starting to blog with the intent to prove that entertainment can be a great source of knowledge and self discovery, sure there is meditation but who said there are no alternatives?. There is a film category that you might have never heard about, it’s called Nonverbal. It’s when movies and documentaries push the envelope to other realms of exposing life and interactions . You know they say there are life changing trips and experiences, the film Baraka has that same power, although many scenes are staged it fills a big gap in the way we see life that feels ahead of our time. The director explains it is a view of our world that he feels is necessary. Some say it’s a masterpiece, one of the few great films of all time portraying our world in its true essence , never a movie has touched so deeply, provoked so many feelings and thoughts that stay with you a long long after the credits roll.

Baraka is an incredible nonverbal film containing images of 24 countries from 6 continents, created by Ron Fricke and Mark Magidson, with music from Michael Stearns and others. The film has no plot, contains no actors and has no script. Instead, high quality 70mm images show some of the best, and worse, parts of nature and human life. Timelapse is used heavily to show everyday life from a different perspective. Baraka is often considered a spiritual film.” Spirit of baraka
